SYNOPSIS
Five perfect strangers meet in the middle of the night and break into an abandoned house. The operation is neatly planned. Are they occupiers? Vandals? Far from it! Their goal is to escape the confinement of their homes. They need to free themselves from the shackles of everyday life. It is not a break-in, but a break-out. And so it begins. The five withdraw and begin their individual ritual. Their lust can be felt, their power is contagious. No one can stop what has been unleashed.
UNLEASH is a high-octane, sensuous, colourful and weird fiction short. It follows five people as they break into an abandoned house and act out freely und fully what they cannot in their regular life. It offers a surprising and entertaining look into the soul of five unique characters. This film is based on improvisation and spontaneity and a vibrant, powerful score.
Freedom of expression is as indispensable as the free space to express ourselves in. We need to be able to unshackle to grow and to rediscover ourselves over and over again. Just now, we as a society have experienced what it means to be isolated, locked-in, to be rendered anonymous. It feels restricting, deflating, devoid of sense. The characters in UNLEASH allow the spectators to do as they do: to break out for a brief moment and be free of judgment and societal constraint.
